Colin Reid
Colin Reid is a professional mechanical engineer who has also worked in
HR and Change Management. He has worked for BP since graduating in
Mechanical Engineering from the University of Glasgow, Scotland for over
27 years. Almost all of that time has been in refinery management roles
principally Plant Integrity, Engineering and Operations Management. He
has worked in UK refineries and petrochemical facilities as well as two
of BP's most complex US plants in California and Indiana where an
important part of his role was to integrate new acquisitions into the BP
Group. Colin has also had internal technical consultancy roles which
exposed him to the challenges of offshore oil and gas production and
chemicals manufacture. He was recently appointed to a newly created
role within BP as Manager HRO where his principle accountability is to
support the BP refining business globally in its aspiration to create a
culture consistent with HRO principles in all twelve of its refineries.
