Reto Schneider
Reto Schneider is member of senior management and joined SwissRe in 1994. Before he attended the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and holds a PhD in Biology/Immunology. After working for two years as a
non-proportional treaty underwriter for the UK and US markets on earthquake and flood reinsurance, he moved to Risk Engineering Services where he is currently heading the casualty team of risk engineers. He's personal focus lies on safety culture and product safety in various industries and in particular in hospitals. He is an advisory board member of the foundation for patient safety in Switzerland. The daily business of his team of
engineers includes the risk assessment of product liability and professional liability risks on behalf of Swiss Re underwriters. Recent activities of his unit include risk benchmarking of pharmaceutical companies and benchmarking of corporate risk quality in several industries. Current research is focused on integrating human performance integrity aspects into risk assessment tools.
